Information on the case from local sources, may or may not be correct : Groff was last seen by her husband near Westview Avenue in Hubbard, Ohio at 7:30 p.m. on July 4, 1977. She lived with her family in the 300 block of Westview Avenue. At 10:00 p.m. that day she was speaking to a friend on the phone when she ended the conversation abruptly, saying, "They are coming up the driveway, I have to go."
It isn't known who Groff meant by "they", but her husband and two children were away from home at the time, attending the city's Independence Day celebration, and didn't return until 11:00 p.m.
It was then that they realized she was missing. Groff left all her clothing and belongings behind and has never been heard from again.
Groff graduated from Farrell High School in Pennsylvania in 1966. Few details are available in her case.

A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are not known.
