Information on the case from local sources, may or may not be correct : Noriega-Verdugo was last seen in Tucson, Arizona on February 27, 2004. He has never been heard from again. Prior to his disappearance, he frequented the area of Drexel Road and Nogales Highway; he would drink with his friends in the desert.
His family did not report him missing until September, seven months after his disappearance. His case remains unsolved.

A missing person is a person who has disappeared and whose status as alive or dead cannot be confirmed as their location and condition are not known. A person may go missing through a voluntary disappearance, or else due to an accident, crime, death in a location where they cannot be found (such as at sea), or many other reasons.
